Get Playful – A Glasses Free 3d Display called CubeVI PLAY – Short period to lock in low prices

Hot on the heels of the last 3D monitor announcement is the CubeVi Play, but with a quite different approach. The CubeVi PLAY is more like a competitor to the earlier larger glasses free displays with a 27inch display which is really your primary monitor. It will come with two different models the standard 4K 27 inch display but also a larger 5K Pro model. Currently for a short period you can Pre Order the display and lock in low prices for the Kickstarter which will be coming in a couple of months. Launch details are here

While the key focus is 3D Gaming, it also covers 3D Movies and 3D Modelling as core selling points.

With 3D gaming the promise is further immersion into 3D worlds, Intensive first person action with over 100 games targeted as to be supported. These are to be supported directly with no additional costs and run directly from Steam. Interestingly they are targeting the creation of a developer community to upload their own conversions to add to compatible library using their CubeStage software platform.

3D Movies is a natural extension to the product with promised support for any 3D Video with a built in stereoscopic decode engine. So no 3rd party player required. All the 3D features that we love (see the best on our list here – All3DTitles) should just play. What is also intriguing is the Spatial Hub that they have setup which seems to be ready for user uploaded 3D videos to broaden the size of the 3D library.

Furthermore 3D Modelling is a key option for users of this display with wide support for model formats and clear definition and spatial depth for all the model elements.

All this is brought together with the extra resolution and depth which promises to ensure that there is no discomfort with using this technology for long periods.

There is much more to look into on their website here CubeVi

We look forward to seeing the kickstarter announcement and also diving deeper into their Spatial Hub. 3A
